Episode 2: Lies

The Realist IS BACK! And this time we’ve brought friends. Now in partnership with Morley Radio
and the Ragdoll Foundation, in each episode you will hear from the young people of Waterloo Community Theatre recorded from the amazing Morley Radio Studios, as well as out and about on the streets of SE1.

Today’s episode of the Realist tells the Truth. Or does it? Our theme for this week is Lies. First up, the group take the LIE DETECTOR. How easy is it to tell when one of us is telling the truth? We then hand over to Xander, Bess and Rachel who drop some FAKE NEWS on us. Rachel and Mark explore the idea of tall tales with a made-up-on-the-spot PUPPY STORY. Bess then brings us back into the real world with a NEWS FLASH, giving us actual news from the real world. Everyone joins in for this week’s BIG CONVERSATION, where the starting question is ‘What’s The Biggest Lie You’ve Ever Told?’.

In our regular profile we introduce Bess, who quickly turns interviewer and turns the microphone on Isabella.

‘The Realist’ was conceived during lockdown to explore bridging the distance between us over the airwaves. Each week during our sessions (held via Zoom) we went live on the internet exploring work from our previous projects and create new work exploring themes close to our hearts. We now share that work with the world via Morley Radio (with thanks to them and The Ragdoll Foundation for their support.
