Songwriters and Wordsmiths

Show 14: All Female Glastonbury
Host: Tracey Hammett

Tracey Hammett has been curating a night at the Hootananny in Brixton for the last thirteen years, it’s called Songwriters and Wordsmiths, it happens once every three months on a Tuesday evening and it showcases brilliant emerging songwriters and musicians.

This radio show is all about introducing you to some of the talented artists she works with. It celebrates them, by playing their recorded music and through hosting their live performances. There’s chat about songwriting and creativity too. It’s essential listening for anyone who is interested in lyrics, music, songwriting and outstanding live performances from brilliant emerging artists.

In Episode 14 of Songwriters and Wordsmiths, because 2026 is a fallow year and there is no Glastonbury, we imagine a dream journey through Glastonbury. Who would you like to stumble across during your dream Glastonbury journey? What stage would they be playing? What snacks are you queuing for? Who will you be boogying with? Cider or sanity? Some of the key questions raised in today’s programme. Expect Sinead O’Connor, Ashaine White, Ruby Dew, Martha St Arthur, Adwaith, Skunk Anansie and Olivia Dean; expect a snippet of a group poem written by last year’s Glastonbury goers. Let us know who your line up would be!
