Generous Faith

Series 2 Episode 2: Nature, Faith and Psychedelics

Guests: Annette Kaye & Muzammal Hussain

Generous Faith is a series hosted by Reverend Georgia Ashwell, a podcast that celebrates the curious and the questioning. In these challenging times we’re thinking about how to live a good life – a life which embraces questions and explores a generous way to understand faith, life and the world. Join Georgia and featured guests each month to seek those spaces found between the binaries, spaces where beauty and mystery often dwell. This podcast is produced by St John’s Waterloo in collaboration with Morley Radio.

We are intricately connected to the natural world which brings so much joy and beauty, as well as disaster and devastation because of climate injustice for many people across the world – and more so on those who have contributed the least to the climate crisis. In this episode I’m joined by to guests, Muzammal – who has been involved with grassroots ecological work for almost 20 years and is one of the pioneers amongst Muslims in the UK, and Annette – spiritual director, psychotherapist and artist, and recent explorer into the realm of psychedelics within a spiritual context. Together we talk about how faith can influence the way we interact with nature – positively and negatively, and how we understand spirituality / God to be found within the natural world.
