London Stroke Choir

Host: Cerys Hogg

This December, Morley is proud to celebrate Disability Awareness Month, reaffirming our commitment to inclusivity and accessibility. As a college built on the principles of equality and diversity, we are dedicated to ensuring that all our students have equal access to education and the opportunities to participate fully in college life. Join us for an inspiring one-off podcast celebrating the London Stroke Choir at Morley College, a lifeline for stroke survivors across London. Cerys speaks to current members of the choir Lil Sullivan, Samm Haillay, Eugene St John, Joe Varona-Angon, Suzanne Lee for a very insightful conversation about the fantastic work of the choir. Discover how the power of music transforms lives, helping survivors rediscover communication through song. From life-changing brain rewiring to show-stopping public performances, this choir is a testament to resilience and community spirit.

Morley is working with Disability Advice Service Lambeth (DASL) to raise funds to support the choir to continue. The choir is open to anyone living in Lambeth or any other London Borough who is a Stroke Survivor or has had a brain injury. The choir rehearses every week in term time at Morley College London and performs three times a year.
