Creative Conversations
Episode 3: Isis Amlak
Welcome to Creative Conversations, a podcast series where Morley College students and Morley Radio volunteers meet with local role models in the creative industries, they will tell us first hand their career paths and how they got to where they are today, hopefully inspiring the next generation of creatives who live and study in the borough, as well as our listeners. This podcast is brought to you by Morley Radio and The Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea.
Our third guest in the series is Isis Amlak. Isis describes herself as an Eclectic Afrikan Centric Poet and is a seasoned activist and performs under the name I Sis. Isis draws inspiration from her activism and engagement with Pan Afrikan politics and campaigning against structural injustice over the last 30 years. Her poetry encapsulates her commitment to racial and cultural equality.
Isis has a MA in Black British Writing, is a presenter on a radio show and has her own weekly show on another. Isis is a member of the Afrakan Queen Mother Warriors, Chair of the Edge Fund, on the board of Olmec, and a member of the Caribbean Pan African Network.
