Made in London: New Music, New Voices, New Energy
In case you missed our most recent REcogniZE show that aired on the 17th of April here are some more artists that are changing the London scene and deserve recognition. First up we have Matilda Cole. Matilda Cole is making music with a sound that’s soft, honest, and quietly addictive. Her music sits somewhere in-between indie-pop and dreamy alt-folk, her tracks feel super personal and relatable. There’s a warmth to her voice that pulls you in straight away, while the production keeps things light and atmospheric. Whether it’s the nostalgia-tinged Milk Teeth to the reflective The High Dive, Matilda’s got a way of turning everyday emotions into something that really sticks. Definitely one to have on your radar.
Next Up we have SISTER. SISTER is a sibling duo with Sonny and Sadie they are bringing a serious attitude to the rock scene. Inspired by The White Striped, Electric Light Orchestra and T.Rex, their sound can be described as punchy with gritty riffs and dark edges. Their debut EP Lip Service dropped in May 2024, and it’s loud, bold, and built to make an impact. Their new single Hot released in June 2025 brings just as much energy and is not one to miss.
Speaking of siblings, here’s yet another sibling band called The Molotovs including Mathew Cartlidge and Issey Cartlidge. They are bringing you a blend of punk, indie and britpop, their sound is fast, punchy and built for the stage something they’ve proved with hundreds of live shows before even dropping a full record. Their debut album Wasted On Youth was released in 2026 and already hit big! This band is not one to miss.
East London’s very own Liv East is all about smooth and soulful vibes with a club-ready edge. Blending neo-soul, R&B and house, her sound moves effortlessly between chill and dance floor-ready. Her vocals are buttery smooth and sounds especially sweet on her brand new single How Many Nights released on the 22nd of April. She’s one for your late night and chill playlists.
Here’s an Artist mentioned on the REcogniZE show MRCY! MRCY is a duo made up of producer Barney Lister and vocalist Kojo Degraft-Johnson. They are known for combining soul influences with modern R&B producing a sound that feels both classic yet fresh at the same time. Their latest track Better days featuring Yasmin Lacey which was included in our most recent REcogniZE show is all about heavymoments, mixing laid-back soul with a hopeful edge. Definitely worth a listen as its the kind of track that sticks with you.
Lastly, here’s an artist collective you might want to be following. Loud LDN isn’t just a group, it’s a whole movement coming out of London. Made up of female and gender-expansive artists, it started as a group chat back in 2022 and quickly grew into a community pushing for more space and support for women voices in the music industry. Loud LDN is about visibility, shared opportunities and artists making noise on their own terms pushing for a more inclusive and balanced music scene.
