In a Flap

Episode 3: Artful Dancer

Guest: Laura Hannan

‘In a Flap’ : Rhythm Tap Student Stories is a series hosted by Lexi Bradburn, teacher at Morley College Waterloo and beyond. In running eighteen Rhythm Tap-dance courses a term across four levels, Lexi has a steady stream of delightful and diverse students tapping at her door! This podcast is here to take a moment to get to know some of her students outside the busy schedule of their tap classes together. Inviting a new student each episode – Lexi wants to find out who her students are, what they do outside of class, why they come to tap and what makes them tick.

Lexi speaks with Laura Hannan in our third episode, an ex dancer returning to class after more than a couple of decades. Whilst we talk cruise ships, paradiddles and Artful Dodger – Laura shares how taking Rhythm Tap classes has shifted her previous need to compete and compare herself to others when dancing. She now dances with us for pure joy, fun and laughter. Best way, we say.
