Series 4 Episode 3: Kelundra Smith
In this podcast, Dr Florence Marfo turns the tables on Kelundra Smith playwright, theatre critic, and editor, and arts & culture journalist, who has interviewed the likes of writer Alice Walker and Academy Award-winning costume designer Ruth E. Carter. Kelundra discusses her new play The Wash, set in Atlanta Georgia in the 1880s. The Wash is a US National New Play Network Showcase finalist and is set to premiere this summer in a co-production by Synchronicity Theatre and Impact Theatre Atlanta.
A native Atlantan, Kelundra also gives a peak into historic Auburn Avenue and the Fourth Ward and daily acts of civil rights resistance during Jim Crow.
