Episode 17: Janice Ehtash
A podcast that takes a peek inside Morley College, its inhabitants and wonders who are the people that make up this world. Host Lana Citron will be chatting to different members from the Morley community; a tutor, student or member of the staff – wondering what makes them tick, what inspires them, their aspirations and hopes and how they found themselves within the world of Morley.
In this episode Lana speaks to Janice Ehtash, Creche Manager at Morley College London.
Jan is a mother of four. She’s been married for 38 years to a man from Libya, and had lived in Libya for 6 years. She has worked in the creche for since 1999, after starting at an adult education company called Bec which merged with Morley College in 2008. The Creche was based at the Lewington centre in Surrey Quays. In 2023, the creche moved to the Waterloo Centre. Jan started off working as a volunteer, and had worked up to management. Jan’s had a lot of ups and downs through the years. Unfortunately, in 2020 she’d caught covid-19, and was hospitalised for 3 months, and ventilated for 5 weeks. Her family during that time was told by doctors that she wouldn’t make it, thank god she did. Morley supported her throughout this difficult time, as she was off work for a year. Her team were absolutely amazing and kept things going in the creche. She is now very excited for this year and new beginnings
